Solway IHC can confirm that Santiago 'Santi' Buesa is stepping down from his role within the club's ownership group.
Santi came on board at a crucial time fot Solway, helping secure the club's future and keep National League ice hockey alive in Dumfries. His support during that period is greatly appreciated by everyone at the club.
Having helped lay the foundations for this new chapter, Santi feels the time is right to step back, confident in how the club is being run and reassured that Solway is in good hands with the remaining ownership group.
Gary McCracken, Jamie Crosbie and Charlie Shaw will continue to lead the club, with day to day operations remaining unchanged.
While stepping away from his ownership role, Santi will continue to support Solway, as both a fan and sponsor, remaining a valued part of the club's journey.
On behalf of everyone at Solway IHC, we thank Santi for his commitment, support and contribution when the club needed it most. He will always be a welcome part of the Solway family.
With Santi's continued backing, the remaining ownership group will continue working alongside our staff, players, volunteers, sponsors and supporters to build on the progress made and take Solway forward together.
We would like to include the following statement from Santi:
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone I have worked with along the way.
It's been a great challenge bringing Solway IHC to compete in the NIHL, a journey filled with experiences, challenges, and most importantly, some great people who have made it all worthwhile.
I wish the company, the team, the fans and everyone involved nothing but success and happiness for the future. I hope to see Solway IHC continue to grow and achieve great things.
Go Solway!"
